Accounts Assistant
Barnsley
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Elevation Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join an established business based in Barnsley.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and reconciliations. It would suit someone with experience in transactional finance who enjoys working across different areas of accounts and is looking to develop their skills further.

There will also be the opportunity to become more involved in month-end procedures and management accounts preparation as you settle into the role, making this a good opportunity for someone looking to broaden their finance experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Processing purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently
• Raising sales ledger invoices
• Chasing outstanding payments by telephone, email and letter
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
• Completing bank reconciliations
• Supporting month-end procedures and wider finance activities

About you:

• Previous experience in an accounts or transactional finance role
• Experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger or credit control
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Confident communicating with customers and suppliers
• A proactive approach with the ability to manage a varied workload
• Keen to develop your experience and take on additional responsibilities over time
