# Environmental Services Assistant – 2 Vacancies

LYNX Employment Services are recruiting 2 Environmental Services Assistants to join a busy environmental services team in Sheffield.
This is a varied, physically active role involving environmental clearance, waste removal, specialist cleaning and disinfection. You'll play an important part in helping maintain safe, clean environments across the local area. We're looking for reliable, hardworking individuals who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and tackle challenging tasks.

### The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Clearing fly-tipping and illegally dumped household and commercial waste.
• Cleaning and disinfecting contaminated properties, including vacant and occupied premises.
• Safely removing hazardous and unpleasant materials, including animal carcasses, sharps, faeces and condemned foodstuffs.
• Assisting with drainage investigations and minor remedial work.
• Collecting, loading and disposing of waste materials.
• Driving work vehicles and completing daily vehicle safety checks.
• Cleaning, inspecting and maintaining equipment and depot facilities.
• Completing basic paperwork, job cards and weekly timesheets.
• Working alongside colleagues to respond to environmental issues and complete scheduled visits.

### What We're Looking For

Ability to drive and carry out vehicle-related duties. A practical, reliable and hardworking attitude. Willingness to work in dirty, unpleasant or contaminated environments. Ability to undertake physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying heavy items. Good understanding of health and safety procedures and the correct use of PPE. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Ability to follow instructions, work independently and contribute to a team. A professional approach when dealing with members of the public.

Previous experience in waste management, environmental services, industrial cleaning, property clearance or similar operational roles would be beneficial, but transferable skills and a willingness to undertake challenging work are equally important.
