Job Description:

Location: Rotherham (on-site)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Contract: 12-month Fixed-Term Contract

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a client in Rotherham to recruit a Finance Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, oversee a small team and play a key role across management accounts, contract accounting and financial reporting.

The role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys being involved in the detail while also taking responsibility for the wider finance operation. We are open to both qualified and QBE candidates with the right level of experience.

• Lead and support a small finance team, overseeing day-to-day workloads and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage contract accounting, monitoring financial performance and ensuring accurate reporting across contracts.
• Prepare and oversee CIS returns, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed on time.
• Coordinate year-end activities and prepare audit packs to support the external audit process.
• Ensure financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation are maintained to a high standard.
• Support the smooth running of the wider finance function, identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting where appropriate.
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to provide reliable financial information and support operational decision-making.

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar hands-on finance role.
• Experience managing or supervising a small team.
• Strong management accounts and financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of contract accounting and CIS returns.
• Experience supporting year-end processes and preparing audit documentation.
• A proactive, organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
• A formal accountancy qualification is desirable, but candidates who are qualified by experience (QBE) will also be considered.
