Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer (Contractor)

Location: Sheffield 

Rate: £34.00 - £35.00 per hour

Contract Type: Freelance Contractor

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Shifts Available: Days & Nights

Experienced HGV Technicians Wanted

Excel Resourcing is recruiting experienced HGV Technicians, Mechanics and Engineers for ongoing contractor assignments with leading fleet operators, logistics companies and commercial vehicle workshops across Sheffield.

We have long-term contracts available for skilled engineers looking to maximise their earnings while enjoying the flexibility of contract work.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV fleets
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance
• Fault finding using diagnostic equipment
• Repairing engines, gearboxes, braking systems, suspension and electrical components
• Completing work in line with DVSA and manufacturer standards
• Ensuring vehicles are returned to service safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Engineer
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Experience working on trucks, trailers or municipal vehicles
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Own tools and transport
