Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the National Curriculum
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and higher attainment
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with parallel class teachers and teaching assistants to ensure continuity across the week
- Contribute to medium- and long-term planning within the year group
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour in line with the school’s policies
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as appropriate to the role
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in a primary setting
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, including phonics and early maths
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
- Effective classroom management skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
- Knowledge of phonics schemes
- Experience working in a job-share or part-time teaching role
- Understanding of assessment frameworks
Additional Information
- This is a 3 day per week position; working days may vary depending on staffing needs and will be agreed in advance
- The role may involve a job-share arrangement with another teacher
- Planning and handover time will be essential to ensure continuity of learning
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check
