Job Description:

A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a busy finance team in Goldthorpe on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with accuracy and attention to detail, providing reliable payroll support in a collaborative, site‑based environment.

£29,000 per annum

Location and Working Pattern
Goldthorpe – fully site‑based

36.25 hours per week

Client Overview
Our client is a respected organisation seeking a proactive Payroll Officer to ensure smooth and compliant payroll operations across their business.

Responsibilities

• Process the monthly payroll accurately and on schedule
• Meet processing deadlines at both regional and central levels
• Review and correct exception reports and errors
• Calculate and record any overpayments
• Manage statutory payments, including SSP, SPP, and SMP
• Complete EYU processing and ensure RTI submissions to HMRC
• Handle manual payments where required
• Administer auto‑enrolment processes
• Manage year‑end payroll procedures
• Respond to employee queries and complete forms for external agencies
• Ensure full compliance with statutory and company requirements

Must‑have Requirements

• Formal payroll qualification or equivalent relevant experience
• High level of accuracy and numerical ability
• Confident using IT systems and payroll software
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
