Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a Primary Classroom Support Assistant to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of welcoming primary schools throughout Sheffield.

This Primary Classroom Support Assistant opportunity offers flexibility whilst allowing you to support pupils throughout EYFS, KS1 and KS2. Working as a Primary Classroom Support Assistant in Sheffield is ideal for candidates who enjoy helping children thrive within supportive classroom environments. Some roles may also include supporting pupils with additional needs within mainstream primary schools.

Position: Primary Classroom Support Assistant

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply

Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)

Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

Working as a Primary Classroom Support Assistant in Sheffield, you will work alongside teachers to support learning, encourage pupil engagement and help create a positive classroom environment.

The Primary Classroom Support Assistant role in Sheffield includes supporting whole-class learning, delivering small group interventions and providing occasional 1:1 support where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Assist with classroom activities and lesson preparation
• Deliver small group intervention sessions
• Provide 1:1 support where required
• Encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Previous experience working within a school or childcare setting
• Positive, patient and supportive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
