Location: Chesterfield - Hybrid Working
Rate: £400-475/day Outside IR35 - Paid Ltd
Contract: Initial 12-Month Contract with possible contract.
Working Pattern: Part-time 3 days a week, with potential to increase to full-time
Start Date: ASAP - ideally before the end of November
Would you be interested in a flexible planning opportunity, supporting a growing portfolio of MEP projects and frameworks?
We are looking for an experienced MEP Planner to provide dedicated planning support to operational teams across a growing workload of projects across railway depot projects.
Currently, programme management and Master Schedule Plan (MSP) submissions are handled by operational teams. With new contracts and projects coming through, the business is looking to bring in a dedicated Planner to manage this function, ensuring programmes are accurately maintained and submitted to clients on time.
This is initially expected to be a 6-12-month requirement, initially on a part-time basis of 2-3 days per week, with the potential to increase to full-time as the workload develops.
Key Responsibilities
·Managing and maintaining project programmes using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
·Preparing and coordinating Master Schedule Plan (MSP) submissions for clients.
·Managing programme submission deadlines, typically on a fortnightly basis.
·Liaising closely with operational teams to gather updates and ensure programme information is accurate.
·Monitoring project progress and identifying potential delays or programme risks.
·Providing forecasting support and helping operational teams understand future programme requirements.
·Supporting programme management across multiple projects and frameworks.
·Ensuring programme submissions are completed accurately and in line with contractual requirements.
·Working with project teams to maintain visibility of progress, key milestones and upcoming activities.
Requirements
·Proven experience in a Planning role within MEP, building services or a related construction environment.
·Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project (MSP).
·Understanding of project programming, scheduling and forecasting.
·Experience managing programme updates and client submissions.
·Knowledge of NEC contracts and associated programme requirements is beneficial.
·Understanding of Clause 32 and its application to project planning would be advantageous.
·Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with operational and project teams.
·Ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accurate programme information.
A rail background is not essential, and candidates from wider MEP or construction environments will be considered.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
·Flexible part-time working arrangement.
·Hybrid working with flexibility around office location.
·Opportunity to support a growing portfolio of MEP projects and frameworks.
·Potential for the role to develop into a full-time position.
·Initial 6-12-month requirement with scope for longer-term opportunities.
The client is looking to move quickly, ideally appointing someone before the end of November.
