Sue Ross Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and successful Sheffield-based business for a Receptionist / Customer Support Agent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional, customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a varied role where no two days are the same. Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, and suppliers, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office while providing outstanding customer support across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Answering and directing incoming calls to the appropriate departments and individuals.
• Welcoming visitors and ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
• Managing visitor sign-in procedures and issuing visitor badges in line with security protocols.
• Responding to customer and visitor enquiries via phone and email.
• Processing customer orders accurately using internal systems.
• Producing sales, order book, and other business reports as required.
• Providing administrative support to customer service and wider business teams, Managing office stationery supplies, monitoring stock levels and placing orders when required.
• Handling incoming and outgoing post, including franking mail and arranging courier collections.
• Receiving deliveries and ensuring parcels and correspondence are distributed appropriately.
• Maintaining voicemail messages, particularly during holiday and business closure periods.
• Coordinating internal communications and colleague whereabouts updates.
• Supporting showroom activities when required by delivering excellent customer service and product information.
• Assisting delivery drivers and facilitating site access as necessary.
• Maintaining a tidy, organised, and professional reception area.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience within a Reception, Customer Service, Sales Administration, or similar office-based role, Excellent customer service skills and a professional, friendly telephone manner.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience using ERP, CRM, or order processing systems (Microsoft AX experience would be advantageous).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload, High attention to detail and accuracy.
• A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, A positive, enthusiastic, and reliable attitude.
