Sales Estimation Engineer

Location:  Wakefield
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Elevation Recruitment Group is recruiting a Sales Estimation Engineer for an established electrical engineering and manufacturing business specialising in bespoke electrical products.

This role combines electrical engineering knowledge, customer relationship management and commercial sales. You will manage customer enquiries, develop technical solutions and prepare costed proposals, taking ownership of opportunities through to order.

The Role

• Manage and qualify new and existing customer enquiries.
• Understand customer requirements and review electrical drawings and specifications.
• Carry out customer site visits to validate technical requirements.
• Develop practical solutions in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Prepare accurate quotations and commercially sound proposals.
• Assess component, supplier and labour costs.
• Manage quotation follow-up, negotiations and order conversion.
• Build customer relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business.

About You

You will have strong electrical engineering knowledge alongside a commercial mindset and the confidence to engage with customers.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in technical sales, sales engineering or a similar customer-facing role.
• The ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience preparing quotations and costed proposals.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A practical, organised approach to problem-solving and opportunity management.
