School Caretaker

Sheffield

£15.75 - £16 per hour

Start date: ASAP

Contract type: Temp - perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement 

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, 52 weeks per year

Unique School Solutions are supporting a specialist setting in Sheffield to recruit for a School Caretaker. The school has various sites across Sheffield, and this role will be based across 5 of their sites in the north of the City. You will be based at their main site near the centre of Sheffield, and move around the sites as required. This will sometimes involve opening and locking up school.

You will be responsible for general maintenance, carrying out health & safety checks and keeping the sites clean and tidy. The role is full time, 52 weeks per year. For the right candidate this could become a permanent opportunity.

Essential requirements for the role:

• Previous DIY and maintenance skills
• Good Health & Safety awareness
• Resourceful and adaptable; you spot what needs attention and take ownership of the task
• A flexible attitude and ability to adapt in a quick paced environment moving across sites
• Experience of locking and unlocking buildings and setting alarms
• Previous experience of working in a school setting or with young people is desirable
• The ability to work under direction as well as using own initiative
